We are still working on making 30-second sound samples available

CRISS 1313 CD ADAM ROGERS TRIO - SIGHT -

Most widely known as a first call sideman with the likes of the late
Michael Brecker and Chris Potter, guitarist Adam Rogers is himself a
composer of note, as he's documented on four prior Criss Cross recordings.

On his fifth outing for the label, Rogers offers a crackling set of standards
in triologue with world-class partners John Patitucci and Clarence Penn,
placing his formidable technique at the service of musical imperatives
and swinging all the way.

CRISS 1314 CD MARCUS STRICKLAND QUARTET - OF SONG -

On his Criss Cross debut, tenor saxophonist Marcus Strickland offers a program
of ballads, mixing original compositions and interpretations of classics - the
songbook standard What's New, Wayne Shorter's Pinocchio, James Brown's
It's a Man's Man's World.

Not yet thirty at the time of the recording date, Strickland displays a
ravishing tone and a lyric sensibility that belies his youth.

In the band: pianist David Bryant, bassist Ben Williams, and drummer
E.J. Strickland. Harpist Brandee Q.Younger appears on the ballad Djorolen.

CRISS 1315 CD DANNY GRISSETT QUINTET / SEXTET - FORM -

A sparkling pianist as well as a fine budding composer, Danny Grissett's star
has been on the rise lately and he's a favorite accompanist to a growing body
of leaders including trumpeters Jim Rotondi, Jeremy Pelt, and Tom Harrell.

He returns for his third Criss Cross release and moves beyond the trio format
to feature tenor saxophonist Seamus Blake, trombonist Steve Davis and newcomer
Ambrose Akinmusire on trumpet.

Grissett puts his stamp on all the material including updates on Herbie
Hancock's King Cobra, and Monk's Ugly Beauty.

His originals are also cut from a regal cloth of originality, with bassist
Vicente Archer and drummer Kendrick Scott responsive to the pianist's every
move.

CRISS 1316 CD KENDRICK SCOTT QUINTET - REVERENCE -

Kendrick Scott, a Houston, Texas native and one of the most sought-after
drummers in the jazz world, has distinguished himself for several years
with Terence Blanchard's Grammy-winning ensemble. Recently, in the fall
of 2008 he toured the world as part of Herbie Hancock's famous band.

Kendrick's powerful, illuminating drum work has graced a number of memorable
Criss Cross CDs, by Danny Grissett (Promise, Encounters), Walt Weiskopf
(Day In Night Out), Mike Moreno (Third Wish) and Lage Lund (Early Songs).

So, it's only fitting that Kendrick should now make his Criss Cross leader
debut with REVERENCE, a stirring quintet session featuring Moreno on guitar,
Blanchard bandmate Derrick Hodge on bass, and the prodigious up-and-comers
Walter Smith on tenor and Gerald Clayton on piano.

Together, Kendrick and the band put their own stamp on classics by Herbie
Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Ornette Coleman and more.
They also delve into the Criss Cross archives to interpret Peter Bernstein's
Metamorphosis, a swinging, evocative piece from the guitarist's 1998 release
Earth Tones.
